About Us
Who we are
SRI4Women is a project run by international communications company, Flooded Cellar Productions Ltd.
Flooded Cellar’s directors, Sue Price and Declan McCormack, ‘discovered’ SRI in 2007, while shooting for a UN agency in Madagascar. It was immediately clear to them that SRI can be life-changing for rice farmers and they decided that wherever their work took them, they would look out for SRI stories, talk to SRI farmers and seek to understand the benefits and challenges involved in rice growing and in SRI.
In around 2016, they were introduced to Olivia Vent at Cornell University, who told them about research being done around the benefits of SRI for women. That introduction led to a determination to particularly pursue women’s stories in SRI. This website, and the videos and stories found here are a result of that.
This is not a commercial effort and has been developed out of a desire to inform and spread the word about SRI. All of the work here has been done as a ‘passion project’.
